Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco

Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.

During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."

__________

This model is a variant of the Agfa Ansco Memo, featuring a depth of field indicator (not coupled) and an accessory shoe on the top cover. There are no flash synchronization contacts. The film advance using a slider on the back of the camera is surprising. This camera accepts Agfa Memo cartridges (24 exposures) or Karat cartridges (12 exposures). The use of cartridges eliminates the need for rewinding.

It's worth noting that there was a similar half-frame format model as well.
